“I am constantly trying to create a small-town life in a big city,” says designer and stylist Emily Current. The co-founder of cult-followed label The Great has a soft spot for fusing comfort with warm, contemporary California living.

Thanks to help of designer Amber Lewis of Amber Interiors, she achieved just that. “Because Emily and her family are super stylish, and accustomed to being around fabulous things, I helped them curate a space they could come home and feel relaxed in," says Lewis. "But, that wasn't a huge departure from their eclectic sensibilities."

"Emily and David had some pretty amazing pieces and collections that they had acquired over the years," Lewis tells Lonny.

"I wanted to make sure that we were able to incorporate items that were the most special to them and 'edit' out the pieces that wouldn't work with the fresh new vibe we were going for."

The space that Current and family have called home for over six years is a SoCal-cool haven that feels inspired, inviting, and just as thoughtfully put together as you’d expect from one of Los Angeles’ leading names in design. With warm tones, striped accents, and gorgeous framed textiles — every inch is just as enviable as the next.
